Bill Jordan

Bill Jordan entered the hunting industry in 1983 when he started Spartan Archery Sportswear Products in a back room in his father’s boat dealership in Columbus, Georgia. Much of Realtree’s early growth was financed on a shoestring budget. In fact, the company’s first facility was an empty church that Bill rented. The upstairs served as office space for Bill and two or three employees. Bill stored boxes in the baptismal room and the sanctuary was his first warehouse.

Since its humble beginnings in the mid 1980’s, Realtree has steadily grown to become one of the strongest brands in the hunting industry. Today, Jordan Outdoor Enterprises, Ltd. employs more than 60 people in Columbus and licenses its Realtree and Advantage camouflage patterns to over 1,000 companies. Realtree even has operations in Europe. Always seeking to expand his business, Bill has never stopped innovating. Despite the use of sophisticated computers, digital cameras and photo-realistic printing, he continues to oversee the entire process of creating and launching each new camouflage pattern.

Most people know Bill Jordan as the originator of the Realtree and Advantage Camouflage brands, the host of both the “Monster Bucks” video series and the “Realtree Outdoors” television show on ESPN2, and the primary associate sponsor of Richard Childress Racing’s #29 car driven by Kevin Harvick. This is what you see in the media and on the screen: the professional Bill. But when you get behind the scenes, there is much more to Bill Jordan. He grew up as the youngest of four children to a middle-class family in a rural home on the outskirts of Columbus. Bill’s father, Leon, was a devoted hunter who owned a small farm where he and Bill often went dove and deer hunting. Though Leon is now deceased, Bill’s mother, Kitty, still lives in the family home where Bill grew up, more than six decades after the family moved there.

Bill’s family is his greatest joy. He passes on the lessons he learned from his father to his son, Tyler. Bill and Tyler can often be found in a bass boat, dove field or deer stand. Bill and his wife, Shannon, participate in every aspect of Tyler’s development. You’ll often see Tyler starring in “Monster Bucks” videos and episodes of “Realtree Outdoors.”

David Blanton

David Blanton has been an integral part of Realtree's video efforts since he started in 1991 as video production manager. He has served as executive producer of “Realtree Outdoors” since the show premiered on TNN in 1993. The popular show moved to ESPN2 in July 2004 after more than a decade on TNN. Blanton is also executive producer of Realtree's popular “Monster Bucks” video series. Blanton has earned a solid reputation throughout the hunting industry as someone who knows the ins and outs of videotaping and harvesting trophy bucks, turkeys and other wildlife. His countless hours in front of and behind the camera have taught Blanton how to be consistently successful on whitetail and other big game across North America.

Blanton is an accomplished hunter who gets a thrill out of hunting with a bow, rifle or muzzleloader. If you've ever wanted to find out where to go for exciting hunts - or if you just want a tip or two that will make you a better hunter - Blanton is always glad to share his experiences with anyone who has a passion for hunting.

Blanton and his wife, Ginger, reside in LaGrange, Georgia with their three sons, Harman, Alex and Lucas.

Michael Waddell

Michael Waddell has been a key member of the Realtree Outdoor Productions staff since he joined Realtree in 1994 as a cameraman. Waddell now serves as producer for the popular “Monster Bucks” and “All Stars of Spring” videos, and he spends much of his time hunting for the Realtree cameras and hosting “Realtree Road Trips,” a fast paced, reality-based hunting show that premiered in July 2003 on The Outdoor Channel.

Waddell grew up hunting and fishing with his father. After graduating from high school, he started competing in - and winning - turkey calling contests on a regular basis. He gained renown as one of the nation's top callers, and in 1993 he won the Realtree Grand America Turkey Calling Contest in Perry, Georgia. His performance caught the attention of Bill Jordan and earned Waddell a spot on the Realtree Advisory Staff. His big break came while guiding an outdoor writers' hunt in Pine Mountain, Georgia. After showing David Blanton some footage he and his brother-in-law shot while hunting deer and turkey, Waddell was hired as a freelance cameraman.

Waddell joined Realtree's Television and Video Department full-time in 1994, and since then he has worked hard to learn all he can about television production. His desire to learn has earned him the affectionate nickname “Sponge.”

Waddell lives in Fortson, Georgia with his wife, Ashley, and his son, Mason.
